Jun. 6th, 2004 12:00 amWow, been a busy week! Bro made Eagle Scout, which is really awesome and go him! It's something like 2% - 3% of Scouts who enter Scouting who actually make Eagle Scout, and joins such people as Neil Armstrong, Gerald Ford (President), Steven Spielberg, James Stewart, Walter Cronkite, H. Ross Perot, and many more amazing people. It's pretty darned awesome!
So in an alternating good / bad thing, the U. is currently blocking my graduation. Yes, Virginia, the world has found another new and creative way to tick me off! I couldn't believe it when they told me, but I jump ahead in this story. I went in for my degree evaluation so that they can certify that you graduate. Ok Fine, paperwork and administrative stuff ::shrugs:: So I go in to fill it out, and they pull up my degree evaluation and... It claims I need to take Calculus I. They ALSO claim it's been on my evaluations that I've been getting since I was a Freshman. WTF MATE!!!! I checked it's not on any of them. To top this off the University told me 4 years ago, when I took my math placement test, to (1) Take Calc. II and (2) that I had tested out of Calc I and wouldn't have to worry about it. So yeah I'm sitting at the office there devistated, I've worked this bloody hard, burnt the candle how many ways and now to be held up by this. There was a ray of hope, get the Comp. Sci. department to waive the requirement if they would be so kind. I went and talked to them, they checked on my math placement and knew that I had Calc II under my belt already and they said they would have it done early this week. So it's not ALL bad just..... ARGH.
Ok now for something good... Done with the 3 week session for classes, I'm 3 credits closer to graduating, only 7 more to go! Enjoyed the class, but it was a whirlwind class craming 15 weeks worth of stuff into 3 weeks of daily 3hr classes. It was fun, but wow! I'm enjoying this weekend and the monday where I don't have classes before I go into the 6 week session! At which point I go back to going insane ;-) Intro to Pre-History, Classical Mythology and Basic Acting are on my plate for the next six weeks. I'm insane, but I'm going to graduate... gotta keep my eyes on some sort of a target
Ok for some bad, the bill came for all my schooling this summer. It's a lot ;-) That and I went and bought clothes to go do interviews in... those were... alot too. I'm in the poor house ;-)
Good: Went and saw Wylde Nept last night as it was a buddy of mine's B-Day. Crowd was awesome, the bad was good as always, the fellowship just what I needed. We figured it out that half the establishment knew each other through no more than 2 other people. IT was really quite amazing actually. But yeah, did a little irish jig, drank a couple of Sprites, and had a good time loosing my voice ;-)
The bad: I'm still bloody depressed. Had some rather stupid stuborn, heal dug in and the world is going to end before we change our arguments, arguments with some friends I've known for nigh on 10 years now. Everything is ok now, just needed a good swift baseball bat to my head.
So yeah, job interview that I'm leaving for on the 13th, be up there till the 16th. Going to be up just north of Chicago in Willemette, Evanston and Skokie. I'll have a little bit of free time, if anyone up there wants to get together, let me know. Probably mostly evenings but I have the 13th to myself as well.
Think thats about it here.
