Ok Ok, so it's LATE on the 6th! I told you I would post, I just didn't garuntee it would be 30 seconds BEFORE the 7th ;-)

Well lets see, you probably REALLY don't want to know about my day today, though not much happened honestly.... well except that the humidifier for the furnace leaked for several hours (not drips, leaks) so we have been pulling up water and stuff that has soaked all over the place, argh! Not NEARLY as bad as the basement flooding of 98, 99?

Anyway NOW for something completely different...

Well to start off with, the trip was a resounding success! I am glad I went! Had a lot of fun, but on to the details!

I left on the 30th heading for my buddies place in Dayton, OH and well.... about 1/4 of the way there the truck decided to pull a fast one on me and lit up it's service engine or check engine light. It's a pretty yellow light and immediatly lead me to freak out... I mean I had 3/4 of that days driving to do, and two other days of driving ahead of me. Called Dad to check when the truck was last serviced, thinking either something might have gotten knocked loose or some other issue maybe. Well it had been serviced a month before the trip, not likely to be having problems. So I glanced over the gaguges I had, and everything looked ok. Listened to the engine, nothing amiss..... And decided to progress cautisouly but progress nonetheless. The truck made it to Dayton just fine, the light on the last of the way.

Once there I stopped into my buddies store to snag that PC100 ECC ram he had told me about, really good deal if anyone needs it. But ended up standing around and talking with him for a good hour or so, and had a couple of arguments with his employees about HyperThreading and AMD X86-64 and ATI versus NVidia, etc. Though honestly.... my buddy isn't really a general manager... more a..... well babysitter, his employees have a lot to learn either about selling things, managing or the products they are selling. He's moving to a new store soon, brand new one and he gets to hire the entire staff, so I would bet things get better for him real quick.

Well lets see he also had inventory for his store that night (odd, does anyone else see an odd pattern to my vacations?) so naturally I offered to help, it was turned down but I still offered. Anyway after hanging out at his store I went over to his house and saw my Godson for the first time. HE'S BLOODY CUTE! And I got to play with him for a while, and I have learned 2 things. 1) Babys are just downright cute, and I certainlly want to have kids some day, just more a reinforcement of what I already knew. 2) It's AMAZING what the human ear can withstand! Baby Mark must have screamed into my ear for several hours, he's got a bit of colick and some gas problems so you can imagine he's fussy.

Lets see.... honestly I'm getting tired, so I'll finish the whole story tomorrow. Night all
