You know it's amazing how the world works. I found out today that I am now a godfather to Mark S. born to Sam S. and Pat S. at 12:30 this morning and weighing in at 9lbs 2oz and 19inches tall. The world kinda changes and I now feel much older than I have in a while. I do however wish Pat, Sam and Mark all the best wishes I can and Congradulations to all!

On another note I got ahold of Karl this evening and was able to check in and make sure that the people I know over in the sandbox are all ok, and no news is good news. Whole thing was brought upon by a friend of my girlfriend's who is comming home from the sandbox. He was recently hit by one of the I.E.D.s when the Hummvee he was riding gunner in drove over it. The driver was fine, the passenger was killed and he, he recieved quite a bit of shrapnel. He's ok, and is fine now, thank God for good military doctors and the construction of the military Hummvee.

There are no winners in war..... ....Only those who loose, and those who loose less. The world is far from a perfect place, it is far from a place that we would even want it to be. It is a place wrought with pain, anguish and the blood of those who have come before us. Maybe someday we can look down at our children and explain to them the nightmare that we once lived through, a nightmare that will never again see the light of day upon this earth. That day is coming, I can only pray that it is within my lifetime. Whatever you believe those who have died are in a better place now, and God willing, we will all get a chance to tell them: thank you and that we are sorry their time was so short.
